Headwaters at the Comal
The OutFit OutReach volunteered at Headwaters of the Comal, a non-profit dedicated to strengthening the relationship between the community and nature by showcasing the significance of the Comal Springs. Headwaters at the Comal and OutFit OutReach worked to rejuvenate the 16 acres at the headwaters of the Comal River where people can learn, have fun, and experience history and nature. OutReach volunteers assisted Headwater’s staff in the general upkeep of trails and mulching of trees. They helped remove invasive species of vegetation and promoted native plant growth while learning the roles each species plays in our local ecosystem. Volunteers left feeling more connected to their community and nature.
